How do I know when to apply flea and tick deterrent?

Fleas are unpleasant and they’re not only uncomfortable for your cat, they usually infect the house and its inhabitants!  Ticks are also nasty and so it’s best to use a rub on or tablet deterrent if your cat will take it.  Many cats really dislike both tablets, rub on protection or a collar but they do get used to it.  If not, maybe find an injectable option. Also, don’t forget to use a brand that also protects them against heartworm as that is often a silent killer. There are plenty of options available to suit all budgets.
